Founded in January 1997, Pinocchio's provides early years care and education to children aged 3 months to 5 years.  We are delighted to be celebrating over 26 Years of expert childcare with a great reputation based on excellent customer service.

Pinocchio's Children’s Nurseries are a group of 5 award winning children's nurseries across Edinburgh & Midlothian.  We currently have purpose built day nurseries in Eskbank, Gilmerton, Heriot watt, Lasswade and Penicuik.

We are registered with the Care Inspectorate and Education Scotland and work in partnership with the government and offer 1140 hours of fully funded placements at no cost to parents, for 2-5 year old.

Our History

Stratos and Lewissa Koulis, a husband and wife team, co-founded Pinocchio's. They opened their first nursery with the view to creating a nursery that they would be happy for their own children to attend. 

With one child aged 3 and another child on the way, both their children attended the nursery until school age. This vision still applies, and Stratos and Lewissa aim to make the nurseries an environment which is focused on the children's social and emotional needs foremost and an environment they would be happy to place their own children in. Their concept is that, if the children are happy then they will develop.

 

After many years managing the day-to-day operations Stratos and Lewissa now enjoy working closely with Katrina Weir (Operational Director) to co-create Pinocchios future developments. Katrina now manages all Pinocchios group. Stratos and Lewissa are always available to support Katrina and her team.
